Gazing at the Far Side of the Moon

The glistening sea amidst the moonlight

The shifting sands as I turn to my side

The waves encroach as the moon pushes and pulls

The setting sun preludes the symphony of crickets and fireflies.

The transience of the night sings for the coming of dawn.

The stars above prick at the darkness beyond

So boundless above, as it is.

To touch it, maybe not in this lifetime.

But to adore it, oh, it will suffice.

To carve the patterns into the greatness.

Each to the unsung heroes of their tales.

Infinitesimal yet so infinite.

A grain of sand to a grain of sand to a grain of sand.

All dancing in the waxing and the waning of the moon.

To the grains of sand I pour from my hand,

To the waves of foam reclaiming each stone.

Into the unknown, I will always peer and ponder.

To the ocean I will dive and sink deeper.

To dive into the waters of the world. To discover the secrets of the universe. To tread our ephemeral fates in the linearity of time. To connect. To know. To remember. Such might paltry notions under the grip of the merciless grandeur. But I do it still as I sneer at the unfathomable darkness, yearning for the morn, refusing to yield. Perhaps to think as such is as banal as to adore the far side of the moon.
